Yellowstone National Park - Fishing Cone

POSTCARD 8134       [last updated 06-13-2009]

I have twelve distinct views of Postcard 8134.

Differences to the front:
     Card is generally lighter (HHT 2, Unknown 1, 3, 6 & 8) or darker (HHT 1, 3 & 4, Unknown 2, 5 & 7) in tone
Unknown 1, 4 & 5 have a red title, all others have black lettering

Differences to the back:
Title for HHT 1 is 'FISH POT.' while HHT 2, 3 & 4 are 'FISH POT' (no period)
HHT 3 & 4 have a line separating the description and 'THIS SPACE FOR MESSAGE', unlike HHT 1 & 2
HHT 4 was sold with other views in a flip folder where the postcards are affixed to the left edge (you tore off a card to mail each one individually)
Unknown 1 description slightly different (font, layout) when compared with Unknown 2 & 3
Because Unknown 4, 6, 7 & 8 are from a postcard folder its back view is another postcard and has no place for the address and message
Unknown 5 stamp box different and has a double dividing line instead of a single line
Unknown 5 has an additional message, 'THIS SPACE CAN BE USED FOR A WRITTEN MESSAGE, USING ONE-CENT STAMP'
Unknown 4's folder does not have additional text on the back like Unknown 8 text (Yellowstone Park Hotel Company News Stands et.al.)

Earliest Postmark:
HHT Co. Type 1 - July 15, 1913 (from an eBay postcard)
HHT Co. Type 2 - None
     HHT Co. Type 3 - July 30, 1915 (from a CardCow postcard)
HHT Co. Type 4 - None
Unknown Type 1 - August 8, 1911 (from an eBay postcard)
     Unknown Type 2 - None
     Unknown Type 3 - August 28, 1912
     Unknown Type 4 - June 22, 1911
Unknown Type 5 - September 8, 1909 (from an eBay postcard)
     Unknown Type 6 - None
     Unknown Type 7 - July 19, 1915
     Unknown Type 8 - None

Other remarks:
Very similar to three postcards (R-31620, A-6897, R-57481, & FC) and a McINTOSH magic lantern slide (CBM)
     Need to determine the publisher for Unknown 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7
